I Can't

I CAN’T

Those of you who have read my past posts have read about an inner tape recording that we have instilled from childhood. If you should ask either one of my children I would hope that they would answer the question of the tape recording… “Can’t never could do anything”.

I did my best to teach my children to become positive, productive citizens. I was so young and didn’t have a “plan” to raise my children and a direction or a map was no where to be found…or so I thought. Through all of the negative, unhealthy, and confusing issues that we endured, I did my best to instill a positive outlook. I loved the verse in Philippians 4:13, “I CAN do all things through Christ which strengthength me” Then in verse 19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus”.

Sometimes that doesn't sound like a "supply of riches" by our standards since  we have all been through trials and struggles. Some of us have lost loved ones, jobs, or homes. Some of us are suffering from incurable diseases. These are things that are for the most part out of your control. Are you a control freak? CAN you find the strength of His power in Your weakness, loss, or sufferings?   Can you allow Him to be the soft place of trust to fall when you are at your most vunerable? CAN you allow Him to open doors for you and show you that HE can supply your needs? You have to become weak so He can be strong. Let go of your control so that He CAN provide your needs!  Let Go and Let God.  (you will probably hear me say that a lot...it's one of my own created tape recordings that I play over and over to myself!!)

When left to your own devices, your bitterness and weakness begin to be covered up by the fluff and are expelled leaving your soul empty and malnourished. Sometimes the malnourishment is easy to hide but you and God know it’s there but… Now you HAVE TO SAY I CAN’T!!!. You may be fighting a demon of alcohol, drugs, temper, pornography or any number of vices that the devil throws at Christians all the time. Stop right now and say I CAN’T. I Can’t do this alone. God is the only one I can turn to with this demon. God is my safe place. I can’t let go of my bitterness and weakness without God’s help. LEARN HOW TO SAY GOD, I CAN'T!!

Now through all the fluff I get to the substance and see that:

Can never could do anything!! You are kidding yourself if you say:

I can give this up, I can get rid of this demon, I can stifle my temper on my own. Christian, How big has your self willpower become? This is a battle between willpower and God power! I feel a powerful message in this that needs to be shared.

I hope that some of you have gotten through my rambling today. I’ve had so many things on my heart. This post has tears throughout. It is VERY personal to me and some of you who know me so well will be able to read some of the stories between the lines.

Can't never could do anything...CAN never could do anything!! This seems to be a very powerful pull between willpower and Godpower!  I CAN’T DO THIS ALONE. Please continue to pray for me as God leads me to do His will in posting. Maybe showing the strength and mercy of God’s power can be the witness today and I pray that those of you reading this have had a personal connection with Jesus and know first hand that you CAN’T but with Him, you CAN.

Do you know Jesus? Are you trying to make it alone? You Can’t.

Come to Jesus. With His forgiveness, you CAN!

BE STILL!

BE STILL!

Psalms 46:1
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Troubles anyone? Of course, we all have troubles and David suggests God is our help. HOWEVER, that help requires an ACTION. Follow me here as we read down the chapter to verse 10, “Be still, and know that I am God”.

That’s the ACTION I wish to instill today. BE STILL.

When was the last time you just sat still? Can’t remember? I was overcome with this when I started listening to the words of Jesus in Matthew. I went back to the Psalmist and really HEARD these words. The entire chapter tells of the way in which we live today. The earth be removed.

Did you all watch the historical events of the 33 miners being extracted from the belly of the earth? We all watched in humble, thankful relief. Really look at verse 2. “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea:” Did you hear that? The earth be removed!!!!! As the “phoenix capsule” arose from the belly of the earth, one could have heard a pin drop across the entire world…
BE STILL! I heard a journalist interwiew one of the drillers and wanted to know where all of the champagne and celebrations were and the driller replied that this is the most somber experience he had ever had in his life. He was humbled and recognized the stillness of the operations. God was exhalted among the heathen.vs 10. “I will be exalted in the earth”! What a wonderful fulfillment of His promise!
Today, the Action is BE STILL! Close your eyes and close out the world. Begin a quiet quest in your own heart to find what action God wants you to take. Maybe it’s more quiet time with Him, devotion with your Family, directed prayer for a loved one or just a phone call to a friend that He is asking you to do. Maybe the quiet time in the stillness of your heart is telling you that you never even had a real personal relationship with Jesus. Have you been still enough to ask Jesus into your heart as your own personal savior? Have you ever really trusted Jesus to have that relationship where you KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life? If not, BE STILL! Ask Jesus into your heart! Repent of your sins, and ask Him to be the Master of your life.

Jesus said….

Get thee hence, Satan

Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God

Him only shalt thou serve

Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand

Follow me and I will make you fishers of men

Rejoice and be exceeding glad

Just a few excerpts from Matthew … check it out! Jesus did Not allow for a passive religion. He gave us specific ACTIONS! We as Christians can no longer just sit back and say, well someone else will pass on the Word of God. I have really been convicted in my heart that each of us has an obligation to GET, WORSHIP, SERVE, REPENT, FOLLOW, AND REJOICE!!!

I remember when I was in Jr. High school in Little Rock, AR I had “doodled” on a notebook something like, “Jesus Saves”. I was all of a sudden labeled Jesus “freak”. I had very few friends and my time spent there was extremely difficult. I really had no one to turn to for support. My mom was a newlywed and had her own adjustments to make, my brother was at a different school and I felt all alone. Jesus and I got real close, real fast!!! I was a new Christian and devoured the word as best I could. I started with the words of Jesus and listened closely to what He had to say. It was easy enough to do since the words of Christ were written in red in my bible!

After all these years, I still listen to the words of Jesus written in red! What I have discovered is that He didn’t mince words!! When He spoke, people listened! More than that, though his words indicated ACTION>commandments>VERBS>I get so excited when I see the amazing choice of words He chose to use to get our attention…Take the Great Commission…Matthew 28:19

GO…no one can consider THAT to be passive!
Teach… all nations…wow, how far can THAT go?
Baptize.. in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (we are NOT alone in this!)

I have listened to these words all my life, read them, heard them preached and always felt I was not fulfilling that commandment. Now, through modern technology, there is the internet!!! I hope to GO, TEACH, AND BAPTIZE, and all the other GO verbs Jesus has set out for me! (I know, I can’t physically baptize but I can lead someone to a Bible believing Church who can!! Thanks to the internet!!!)

I want to explore as many of the action verbs of the words of Jesus in the following posts as I can without getting too “preachy”. I hope that even the Christians who are reading this will realize that so many of us have been singing “Standing on the Promises” while sitting on our behinds!

Back in Action coming Soon!

I have been working on a project and I've decided to use this as my voice. I've been looking back on some of my posts and have seen that it's a good introduction to "me" but I want to go further into what some may call Bible study for a while.

I've been convicted to share some ideas and those of you who know me well know that I tend to lose focus so at times I will "rattle" but pray for me as I gather my thoughts to begin a Bible study I would like to call "Back in Action". Kindly give me a few days and encourage other Christians to join in and maybe we all can learn together as we begin to study the words of Jesus...

I Once was Blind

As Jesus walked with his disciples, they came upon a blind beggar. The disciples asked, "Master, who did sin, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" John 9:2. Thankfully Jesus replied with great compassion, "Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him" John 9:3

I am a cripple. That's what people used to call it. Now the politically correct term is "disabled". What ever you may choose to call it, I don't walk well nor do I walk any distance to speak of. I've used my cane, my walker, my wheelchair and my scooter for mobility assistance. My grand children have been around it their entire lives.

Every one of my grandchildren has at one time or another played, "hide the cane". Last winter we were out checking on the greenhouse and they played "lock Nana in the greenhouse". I make light of my disability but demand respect for it. They have fun playing with me but they also know the limits of how far to take it. They don't see "Nana the cripple, they just see Nana". I'm very proud of how I've helped them accept people with disabilities. Treat them with respect and compassion.

My RSD is a means by which God's work should be made manifest. I don't look sick. I look "normal", but my testimony is that I CAN WALK! I took action in regards to my diagnosis of "sorry, but you will not walk again" and "Went to the pool of Siloam" (John 9:7) . I spent painful weeks in physical therapy and was able to actually bend my knees without surgery!

John 9:8"The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him and he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?"

Yep! That's me. Praise God when Jesus said Go, I went! I washed, and I received! (John 9:11) I once was "blind" but now I "see"!!!

Each of us has a Handicap. Mine is RSD. I didn't ask for it. It is not a result of sin or lack of faith. It is NOT my parents fault. My RSD is a way for God to be magnified through the compassionate touch of my Lord. I can see that now.

One Minute Each Night

During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America .
2 Chronicles 7:14..'If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.'
Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do so. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land.
The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!! If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8 PM Central, 7 PM Mountain, 6 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the upcoming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

This was e-mailed to me and I felt led to post it here. Don't know who started it but it is Bible based and according to His Word.

Take ONE minute........join me!
